Why is diversity in STEM important to you?
Diversity in STEM is important to me because we live in a world that is greatly diverse. No one thinks the same, we approach problems differently, we create differently, etc. The research and innovations from the fields in STEM are, in my opinion, ultimately the keys to this world's existence. But the world is not made up of one group of people, so we have to have the representation of all people in order for us to grow collectively and effectively.
What is your personal mantra that you lead by?
Be Great! Do Great! Help Others Become Great!
What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment, as it relates to my career field, is having students thank me every year for being their math teacher because I made them feel confident in a subject they previously felt defeated in.
What advice would you give to youth who are interested in your career field?
Be sure that you are truly committed to being an educator and have a true passion for it. You will be entering into one of the most important career fields in the world. You will have a major part in shaping the future of this world. Because the youth of today will be the inventors, doctors, educators, engineers, nurses, researchers, etc of tomorrow.
