Breawna Kirkpatrick - Social Media Specialist

Meet Breawna Kirkpatrick! Breawna is a Social Media Specialist at the Georgia Department of Transportation. She received her BS in meteorology from Jackson State University and MS in electronic media studies from Central Michigan University. Her advice to students who are interested in pursuing STEM: Never give up. It’s okay if things don’t go as planned and don’t be afraid to fail. Always get back up and try again and pass those tests that come your way in life because it’s only for your betterment. When you move into your next season you’ll appreciate those lessons you learned to get you to your current position.

Breawna is also an entrepreneur and is the CEO of Bre Nicole Social Media Services.

What is your greatest accomplishment?

I would say my determination to go to graduate school. I didn’t attend school immediately after I graduated from undergrad, my intended path was redirected and I attended graduate school a year and a half later. I never gave up and attending Central Michigan was actually the perfect fit for me that I didn’t know I needed. It was truly God’s plan. While in school I became apart of a few amazing organizations, had an amazing internship with the Fox outlet in Detroit and I was able to get on what was called the fast track for my degree and I was able to graduate within a year and a half.  I still look back sometimes and I can’t believe I accomplished all of that in that short amount of time.
